Lava appears set to launch a variant of the Iris Fuel F1 smartphone, the Iris Fuel F2, priced at Rs. 4,444. Although the handset is available to buy via an e-commerce website, the company is yet to officially launch the smartphone in India. It is worth mentioning that the Lava Iris Fuel F1 was launched with a higher priced tag of Rs. 8,700 in October last year.
The dual-SIM dual-standby (GSM+GSM) supporting Lava Iris Fuel F2 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box. It features a 5-inch FWVGA (480x854 pixels) resolution display with pixel density of 196ppi. The smartphone is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz clubbed with 512MB of RAM.
The Lava Iris Fuel F2 houses 8GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card (up to 32GB). It sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, along with a VGA (0.3-megapixel) front-facing camera. In the connectivity section, the handset supports 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v2.1, FM radio, GPS, and Micro-USB. The Lava Iris Fuel F2 has popped up online on e-Bay India before getting an official announcement by the company. The handset is priced at Rs 4444 on the e-commerce site and looks to be a slightly downgraded version of its predecessor which currently sells for around Rs 7499.
The biggest step-down is probably in the battery department, with the Lava Iris Fuel F2 going for a 3000mAh unit instead of a 4000mAh one like its previous variant. Still, the current capacity is decent for an entry-level phone thanks to a maximum standby time of 300 hours and 2G talk time of 31 hours.
Taking a closer look at its other features, the Iris Fuel F2 carries a 5-inch FWVGA TFT (480 x 854p) screen which outputs a pixel density of 196ppi. The device gets its power from a 1.3Ghz quad-core processor of unknown make which works in tandem with 512MB of RAM to keep the phone going.
