Doogee has unveiled their latest offering, the F5 phablet. Doogee joins the affordable smartphone market with their newest smartphone priced at only $140. Given the aggressive price point, the Doogee F5 actually has decent specs and features.
According to Android Headlines, Doogee aimed to create a unique phablet that set itself apart from the iPhone and other current smartphones that look like iPhones. Instead, the smartphone manufacturer from China has unveiled a square shaped device that is made out of strong and lightweight liquid metal. The smartphone is 7.8 mm thick and weights 171 grams.
The Doogee F5 has a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS Sharp Screen display with a 1080 x 1920 screen resolution, 401 ppi pixel density and 82 percent screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by an octa-core 64-bit MediaTek MTK6753 processor and 3 GB of RAM. Given its hardware specs, the phablet is capable of providing users with a smooth browsing experience.
The phablet has 16 GB of internal memory but can be expanded up to 32 GB.
The F5 handset also features a 13 MP rear camera with a Samsung 3M2 CMOS sensor, dual-LED flash and autofocus and a 5 MP front-facing camera. The Samsung ISOCELL sensor allows the handset to capture crisp and dynamic images, even in low light conditions.
The F5 also offers users security via a fingerprint scanner located below the rear camera. The fingerprint scanner features 360-degree identification and can record five sets of fingerprints. It only takes 0.5 seconds to unlock the device.
In terms of connectivity, the Doogee F5 has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS capabilities. It also has dual-SIM with dual standby capabilities. The F5 phablet comes preloaded with the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out of the box.
Doogee has also backed the F5 with a 3,000 mAh battery with fast charge capabilities. According to the company, it takes only 30 minutes for the phone to charge up to 70 percent. A full charge of the device takes only 2.5 hours.
Online retailers are now taking pre-orders for the Doogee F5 and the phablet is expected to ship out by Sept. 30.
